~ ONE BAPTIZED ~

This Sunday morning, one young lady came forward to be baptized. After reviewing the steps revealed in the Bible about how to become a Christian, she publicly confessed Christ and was baptized into the Lord, for the forgiveness of her sins. We rejoice in her good decision & pray that the Lord will watch over her.
There have been several baptisms through the years, which I have announced in the bulletin or my monthly report. I didn't think to share them here here until now. In the future, I aim to keep such important news updated here.
~ DEBATE WITH SOUTHERN BAPTIST ~

Jared Moore, formerly a "pastor" of the Southern Baptist Church in Soddy Daisy, TN. offered to debate back in 2008. At last report he was finishing his M.Div. in Christian Ministry from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY and was "pastoring" in Hustonville, KY. We briefly talked about what propositions to discuss. Possible topics include: What is the Gospel, Possibility of Apostasy, Necessity of Obedience to the Law of Faith, Inherited Total Depravity. The agreement is to have one discussion here in Sparta and one at his location, which is now in KY. It has been a while since I have heard from him though, but I will update this post as further information is available.
